About the Founder

In 1995, Binu Malayil, began his career in Africa with Computer Point Ltd., a company established in 1991 in Uganda. In 2001, he established Computer Point Ltd. Rwanda, as an extension of the Ugandan operations. Under his leadership, the company became a prominent IT solutions provider in East and Central Africa.

The company has received numerous recognitions for its performance. In July 2003, Binu and his team received the Certificate of Excellence Award from His Excellency Dr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, in recognition of their outstanding work on the COMSYS Project for the Ministry of Justice.

Binu was honoured with the International Star Award for Best Businessman in Gold & Platinum categories at the Quality Convention in Geneva in October 2003 and 2004. He held various roles, including Vice Chairman of the Rwanda Information and Communication Technology Association (RICTA), where he contributed to the strategic ICT development plan aligned with Rwanda’s Vision 2020. Additionally, he was part of the Golden Circle Member of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF) and played a key role in establishing the ICT Chamber in Rwanda.

A Rotarian since 2009, Binu has been actively involved in social and cultural initiatives in Rwanda. In 2013, he was elected President of the Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga (RCKV) after serving in various capacities. He received the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) recognition in 2014 and was elevated to Multiple Paul Harris Fellow (MPHF) status in 2016. An avid sports enthusiast, Binu’s company supports numerous sports events across Rwanda. He also served as Vice President of Public Relations for the World Malayalee Council’s Africa Region, contributing to both global and regional initiatives.
Since 2001, Binu has been deeply engaged in social and sports initiatives in Rwanda. In 2010, he was instrumental in founding the Indian Association of Rwanda (INAR), a non-profit charitable organization which represents the Indian community and functions as an umbrella organization for various regional, social, and service groups. Binu served in multiple roles within INAR, including as Chairman in 2022, and continues to support and lead the community’s initiatives.

Binu believes that God’s grace is sufficient amidst difficulties and considers his core strengths to be the support of his family, friends, and colleagues, as well as his unwavering commitment to his clients.

Computer Point Ltd, run by him has also completed 18 years in Rwanda. Under his guidance, company had taken many innovative and changeling projects handled and also on going.
